Size guide for straps
To determine your strap length, you can either measure your wrist circumference and determine your strap length in the table or use our templates, which you can download below.
Please find our templates for download here:
Instructions: Print out the document and make sure that no page scaling is preset. Cut out the template along the red dotted line. Place the watch on your wrist and pull the strap through the cut slit. Make sure that the template is not too tight on your wrist and that you have a little space between your fingers. Please note that leather underlays result in a longer strap length.

With the new Hanhart 417 ES, we are celebrating the return of a legend among stop wristwatches. Over 60 years ago, its historical model served as the first pilot's chronograph for the German armed forces. Today, it combines the best design of the past with the most modern production techniques of our time. The result: a robust chronograph with an exciting history for everyday wear and adventure.
MODEL FROM THE 50S
TRADITION IN DETAIL
The 417 ES is a piece of living Hanhart tradition. Its fluted bezel rotates continuously in both directions and its red position markings are reminiscent of the original from the 1950s. The numbers and lettering on the dial in the characteristic Hanhart layout with totalizers at 3 and 9 o'clock as well as the symmetrical pusher spacing were also adopted from the historic model. This is why it rightly bears the historic Hanhart logo.

HAND WOUND
Like its historical model, the 417 ES has a hand-wound caliber. The range of action of the historic 417 was severely limited outside the cockpit due to its limited water resistance. That is why our new 417 ES can withstand the pressure of depths up to 10 bar.

THE ICON FROM THE PAST
THE LEGENDARY 417
Robustness, reliability and readability. From the mid-1950s, Hanhart built the Bundeswehr's first pilot's chronograph according to these three criteria. Its name is 417 and its task is uncompromising use on the wrist of pilots. Hanhart supplied the German armed forces with the chronograph for almost ten years until 1963, when the brand focussed on the production of hand stopwatches. The few surviving examples of the original 417 have since become the most sought-after vintage chronographs from Germany.
THE CONTEMPORARY RE-INTERPRETATION
Our aim was to design the 417 ES to be as slim as possible so that it would be present on the wrist without appearing disproportionate. Despite the heavily domed sapphire crystal, it is only 13.3 mm high.
Its crown is adorned with our historic logo.

Behind the screw-down stainless steel back of the 417 ES, the reliable hand-wound SW 510 M caliber operates in the best Swiss-made quality. In addition to stop seconds, it offers a power reserve of up to 58 hours when fully wound.
QUALITY LEATHER OR STAINLESS STEEL
COMFORTABLE TO WEAR
The 417 ES is comfortable to wear from day one thanks to the black calfskin strap with its waistband-style carpet pad. For extra comfort against the skin, the black calfskin strap is lined with Alcantara on the inside. A pin buckle with the historic Hanhart logo ensures a secure fit. For further styling options, we also offer a dark brown strap or a stainless steel bracelet.
