WHY IS THE CARE OF YOUR HANHART WATCH SO IMPORTANT?

A Hanhart watch is not just a normal watch. Hanhart watches don’t just tell the time. The name Hanhart combines the past with the present and is a faithful companion on the wrist for a lifetime – provided it is cared for correctly. We generally recommend that you have your Hanhart watch completely serviced every 3 to 6 years, depending on how often it is used. Various reasons can cause the watch seals to leak. To guarantee the continued functionality of your watch, you should have it checked for water resistance at least once a year.

Find out below about the individual steps of a full overhaul of your Hanhart watch in Gütenbach.

After the documented receipt of your Hanhart watch, it is carefully inspected by experienced watchmakers in our master workshop. Each of our watches is recorded in our system, together with the so-called “birth certificate” and detailed records of all inspections carried out. This comprehensive documentation enables our watchmakers to draw valuable conclusions and carry out the servicing of your watch in a targeted and efficient manner.

In this step, the watch case is opened. After removing the movement, the case is disassembled into its individual parts. For a thorough movement inspection, the dial and hands are carefully removed so that the movement can also be disassembled into its individual parts or assemblies.

First, the housing parts are subjected to a thorough rough cleaning. In the next step, the individual components pass through two ultrasonic baths.

The dismantled workpieces are also subjected to several ultrasonic baths with different cleaning solutions in a special cleaning machine and then carefully dried.

Now is the time for our watchmakers to apply all their knowledge and skills to the care of your watch. Based on the diagnosis made in the first step, the worn movement parts are replaced professionally. This is crucial in order to meet our own high hanharte standards. After all, your timepiece should function reliably for many years to come. Case damage is carefully removed or cleverly concealed in our in-house polishing and grinding workshop wherever possible.

The revival of your movement begins. Our watchmakers assemble, grease and oil the movement according to our in-house standards. We use synthetic high-performance oils and greases to ensure the perfect functionality of your watch.

If present, the chronograph circuit is precisely adjusted under a microscope to ensure optimum power transmission and maximum durability of the system.

In addition to carrying out our in-house regulating instructions, particular attention is paid to a comprehensive check of your movement. Functions such as the automatic or chronograph mechanisms, if present, are subjected to intensive testing to ensure that each function works precisely and reliably.

The refurbished case parts are reassembled with new seals to form a complete case. We then reattach the movement, dial and hands to the case. Once everything has been inserted dust-free and sealed, the finished watch head is placed on a watch winder without a strap. There, the movement is moved both radially and axially to generate maximum deflection and test its functionality. This is the last step of our meticulous work before you receive your Hanhart back.
